Hue City is the ancient capital of Vietnam. It became the country’s imperial capital when Gia Long proclaimed himself as the new emperor and declared Hue as his chosen capital. The imperial city of Hue prospered during the reign of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 – 1945. Hue is now renowned for its natural beauty, cultural heritage sites, long religious history and mouth watering cuisine.

A Hue City Tour from Hoi An is definitely a must experienced tour. The tour does not only showcases the destinations in Hue City but also takes the most beautiful coastal road from Hoi An Ancient Town to the modern Danang city and finally to the ancient imperial city of Hue – a full on Central Vietnam adventure.

Intenary

In the morning

7:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Your tour guide and van will pick you up at your hotel in Hoi An.

If you are in Da nang, we will pick you up between 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM. Along the way, there will be a quick stop at the highest pass and one of the most scenic coastal roads in Vietnam, the Hai Van Pass. Here you will see a panoramic view of Danang city and the beautiful long white Lang Co beach.

11:30 AM: Visit one of the most aesthetic royal tombs, Khai Dinh Tomb. This jaw dropping blend of Western and Eastern architecture was constructed between 1920-1931 for the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty – Emperor Khai Dinh.

In the afternoon

12:30 PM: Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant serving the best Hue dishes.

1:30 PM: Explore one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites in Vietnam and Hue’s main tourist attraction, the Imperial Citadel. The huge complex including the Forbidden Purple City was once home to the Nguyen Emperors since 1804.

3:00 PM: Get amazed at the beautiful and tranquil Thien Mu Pagoda, the tallest pagoda in Vietnam. This seven-story pagoda was built in 1601 and witnessed different events that befell the city yet it is still standing. Due to its beauty, it became a common subject to many local folk rhymes and is considered the unofficial symbol of Hue.
